Yup...

I, uh, kind of died again. Not surprising. Already notified via LiveJournal, but figured it'd be the decent thing to do to let you guys know here.

Deeeeead.

Mac Mini is a Mad Ripoff

So, yeah. Here it is. The Mac Mini. To be honest, I'm impressed and disgusted at once. Impressed, because I love that Apple has condensed an entire computer into something that small. I'm disgusted by the fact that it lacks several things which make computers computers--such as the monitor, mouse, keyboard...

Seemingly, Apple decided to create a Mac that anybody could afford. And while this is indeed the cheapest variant of the Mac that I've ever come across, for a price tag of five hundred bucks, I could get an entire PC--with a keyboard and everything--from Newegg or TigerDirect.

Still, though, I'm torn. I've always wanted a Mac--particularly an iBook. But really, that's an aesthetic thing. Macs just look prettier, and I want a pretty environment when I'm trying to write up a story. For everything ELSE that I want to do with computers, I know--and the lesson has been reinforced on me by a number of people--that I need a PC.

So, thank you, Apple, for trying to make an affordable Macintosh. Now, if you could kindly slap that price tag on an eMac or something...

The one thing they've made that I actually do like is the iPod Shuffle. That tiny (and I mean tiny) little gizmo just looks...I don't want to say "cute", but it's definitely something. One problem, though: For a hundred and fifty bucks, I can get an MP3 player from Wal-Mart that comes with more space and even has a little screen for me to navigate. Hell, for 200 bucks I can get one of those Zen Jukebox things and have a LOT more.

Hmm. I just realized--I have gone link-crazy in this post. Ah, well.

Just Thought I'd Share

Seriously, one of the most relaxing things that I do is sit back and take a look at pictures of neublae. These are some of my favorites, the ones that I find either most relaxing, or most aesthetically pleasing.

(note: Yeah, I've given you the links, rather than posted the images, because there's a lot of 'em, and I don't feel like posting a lot of images. Also note that I'd recommend viewing these full-screen.)

Horse's Head Nebula

Helix Nebula
Dunno what it's called, but it's beautiful
I like to think of it as the Heart of God.
It looks either like Alf or an eagle.
See? Even the cosmos plays with bubbles!
Things this beautiful make me think God exists.
This is what Dave Bowman saw in the novel.

Beautiful, right?

Why use Blogger, man??

To be honest, I've got all I need with LiveJournal, but then, what the hell? I like the editor for BlogSpot, and it seems pretty good. To be honest I wouldn't have known this thing even existed if not for Achewood. But yeah. Might as well use this in augmentation to LiveJournal--a journal away from the Journal, I guess you could say.

Don't you just LOVE my blog title? I honestly thought something like this would have been taken, but it wasn't. And, thinking about it now, I probably wouldn't have submitted it if I'd known it would actually work. >.> But oh, well. What's done is done.

I should really be writing. So I think I shall.

(Currently participating in the fan-fiction contest on Icybrian's web page. But don't you do it. The fewer people, the greater my chances of winning.)
